Summer Camp

CareyRArt Summer Camp for Kids Grades 1-6 is focused on fostering creativity, community and connection in an arts-based environment.

In this program participants will focus on working both independently and in groups; strengthening fine motor skills using scissors, paint markers, paint brushes; making connections between, and finding inspiration in, art and nature; and developing a basic understanding of abstraction, symbolism and impressionism.

Week 1: August 18th - 22nd, 2025

Week 2: August 25th - 29th, 2025 

  • Monday - Friday
  • 1:30pm - 4:30pm
  • $35 per student per day, $175 for the week

Schedule Summer 2025

Day 1- Monday SELF-PORTRAIT

In our first class, we’ll take the time to get to know each other and create abstract self-portrait collages using a variety of organic and in-organic materials.

Drop-off & Pick-up: Bill & Helen Norrie Library (Grant Park)

Day 2- Tuesday COLLABORATIVE ART

Today, we will be using acrylic paint markers to create collaborative nameplates. Each student will have the opportunity to contribute to each piece, making it a true group effort.

Day 3- Wednesday CHALK ART

We have been invited by a member of the community to transform her front path and the sidewalk outside her home into a vibrant chalk art display.

Day 4- Thursday ART IN NATURE

Nature will be our inspiration on this day as we use watercolour paints to create beautiful landscapes. We Will explore various scenic spots around The Forks for inspiration.

Day 5- Friday ART IN MOTION

On the final day, we’ll bring together everything we’ve learned throughout the week to create unique, personalized art pieces. Students will have access to all the mediums explored during the course.

Drop-off & Pick-up: Corydon Community Centre (behind the play structures)

Important to Note:

  • Registrants will receive a confirmation email once registration has been processed.
  • Camp may be subject to cancellation due to low enrolment.
  • Participants must be entering grades 1-6 in the upcoming school year.
  • Participants must be able to safely engage with the group with a 1:10 supervision ratio.
  • Participants must come dressed appropriately for the weather, including hat and sunscreen.
  • Participants are responsible for their own snack and water bottle.
